BART STATION SHOOTING

On New Years day a Rapid Transit Agency police officer shot and killed 22-year old Oscar Grant at a BART subway station in Oakland California

Johannes Mehserle, the officer responsible for the shooting, was arrested this week and charged with murder.

Mr Mehserle resigned from the rapid transit unit on January 7, hours before a protest in Oakland turned violent and resulted in more than 100 arrests.

R.I.P. To Oscar Grant and our thoughts and prayers go out to his 4-year-old daughter.
