Death before dishonor.

Word is bond.
Most everyone has forgotten the true meaning of these statements. Rather then the testaments they once pronounced they are common phrases with light implications. The majority of people hold no code of honor nor understand true honor. The streets are filled with hustlers out for their own often while dishonoring families, friends, and self. When it comes self-pride and honor amongst community you have to give it up to the Japanese.

Seppuku (切腹 "stomach-cutting") is a form of Japanese ritual suicide by disembowelment. Seppuku was originally reserved only for samurai. Part of the samurai honor code, seppuku has been used both voluntarily by samurai to die with honor rather than fall into the hands of their enemies, and as a form of capital punishment for samurai who have committed serious offenses. Plunging a sword into the abdomen and making a left to right cut is the proper performance of seppuku.

You may be a ninja, but you’ll never be a Samurai.
