Perhaps I look at the details and analyze things beyond what is intended, but that is the greatest aspect of expression. Take it as you can.
Cai Gou-Qiang is a realist making a strong statement of how everything about the human experience is unnatural, and a form of pure destruction, we as humans are currently killing the world around us.
His recent work at the Guggenheim I translate as a declaration of American guilt, and the ensuing guilty actions of every human nation active in the current down fall of society.
The blending of simplicity, beauty, social upheaval, and a powerful thought have brought Cai to the forefront of Contemporary Art. While I love his work the world has plenty depictions of the current state. It would be truly impressive if great minds took their ability to see & present with clarity and focused on possible solutions.
CALL ME A HATER.
